Tinsel Town Ladies Mourn Over the Demise of the First Indian Superstar


Rajesh Khanna is known to be the first Indian actor to reach the enormous heights of stardom and popularity and gaining the title of ‘Superstar’ for the very first time in Indian Cinema. 

But this legendary actor, who taught millions of Indians how to romance, is no more between us. His melancholic demise on July 18th has made millions of eyes wet.

Those who have seen that Golden era of Indian Cinema, very clearly remember the magical effect that Rajesh Khanna had over his fans. With a huge female fan following, he has enjoyed such level of popularity whose tales are still remembered. His charming looks and intense acting were the main reason for his worldwide stardom. The girls at that time used to marry his photo and would write him letters with their blood. Such was his aura and charm.


The actresses who have shared screen with Kaka remember him as quiet a simple and benevolent personality. Sharmila Tagore, who has been his co-actress in 15 movies including the iconic movies like Amar Prem, Safar and Aradhana, and had a great and sizzling on screen chemistry with him, said that his appeal was beyond age and from a 9 year old to a 90 year old, everyone liked him. 

Younger women wanted to marry him and the older ones saw him as their son. Even the men liked him for his unique style and energy.

Mumtaz, who has worked with Rajesh Khanna in 8 movies, said that she used to tease Kaka for such an extraordinary female fan following of his. Along with his co-actresses, the other Bollywood ladies have also expressed their grief through press interviews, tweets, etc, on the sudden death of Kaka.

Madhuri Dixit gives her sincere condolences to Rajesh Khanna’s family and said- ‘We will miss him dearly.’

Genelia D’souza Deshmukh and Sonam Kapoor tweeted- RIP Rajesh Khannaji.

Neha Dhupia, one of the hot Indian actresses also tweeted- ‘RIP Rajesh khanna Saab ... U, ur stardom, ur magic will live forever!’

Shabana Azmi, who has done 10 movies with him, posted on Twitter, ‘He was d SUPERSTAR like no other.’

Pooja Bedi tweeted that she is deeply saddened on knowing that Rajesh Khanna is no more and wishes strength for his family and fans.

Shilpa Shetty also posted on Twitter- ‘Jus heard the sad news, heartfelt condolences & prayers 2 the family 2 cope with this irreparable loss, R.I.P Rajesh Khanna, a Superstar always.’
